Monday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Spot Prices Show Strong Gains

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 6 Higher
SOYBEANS: 6 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $8.10 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.92 Lower
DOW JONES: 203 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 31 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $2.74 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese price gained 4.25 cents, closing at $2.00 with two loads traded. The price broke out of the trading range, moving to the highest level since Aug. 21, 2023. The barrel cheese price jumped 8.50 cents, closing at $2.09 with no loads traded. Price reached the highest level since June 14. There were two unfilled bids remaining for barrels. The dry whey price remained unchanged at 56.25 with no loads traded. Class III futures are 7 cents lower to 46 cents higher. The March 2025 contract shows the only loss. New contract highs are seen in the October through January contracts. The butter price gained 4.25 cents, closing at $3.14 with 17 loads traded. This is the highest price since July 8. Nonfat dry milk gained 1.50 cents, closing at $1.2150 with no loads traded. Class IV futures are 1 cent lower to 5 cents higher. Butter futures are 0.42 cent lower to 2.22 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.22 cent lower to 0.55 cent higher.
