Monday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Milk Futures Turn From Lower to Higher

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

SOYBEAN MEAL: $7.40 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $1.90 Lower
DOW JONES: 49 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 50 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $0.82 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese price gained 6 cents, closing at $1.96 with two loads traded and three unfilled bids remaining under the market. The barrel cheese price increased 3.75 cents, closing at $1.94 with one load traded. There were two unfilled bids and one uncovered offer remaining at the close. Class III futures showed double-digit losses before spot trading and quickly turned higher, posting some double-digit gains in light trading. Futures range from 5 cents lower to 19 cents higher. The butter price slipped 0.25 cent, closing at $3.13 with three loads traded. The Grade A nonfat dry milk price gained 0.25 cent, closing at $1.1825 with three loads traded. Class IV futures have not yet been traded. Butter futures show very light trading activity with contracts 1.00 cents lower to 0.50 cent higher. Dry whey futures are unchanged to 0.97 cent higher.
