Friday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Limited Spot Price Movement

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 8 Higher
SOYBEANS: 12 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $14.40 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.57 Higher
DOW JONES: 9 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 166 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $0.40 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Both block and barrel cheese prices remained unchanged at $1.90 and $1.9025, respectively. There was an unfilled bid for a load in each with no sellers showing up to do any business. The dry whey price increased by 0.25 cent, closing at 49.25 cents with one load traded. Class III futures are 8 cents lower to 27 cents higher with August showing the greatest gain. Trading volume is light as usual with limited price movement in underlying cash and holiday trade. The butter price slipped 0.25 cent, closing at $3.1325 with no loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk remained unchanged at $1.18 with no loads traded. Class IV futures have only traded in the November contract with price up 9 cents. Butter futures are 0.75 cent lower to 1 cent higher. Dry whey futures have not yet traded.
