Friday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Holds Steady

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 4 Lower
SOYBEANS: 20 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $2.20 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.35 Higher
DOW JONES: 37 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 18 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $1.44 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Both block and barrel cheese prices remained unchanged with no loads traded. There was one offer for a load of barrels remaining at the close. The dry whey price increased 1.75 cents, closing at 47 cents with two loads traded. This is the highest dry whey price since Feb. 27. Class III futures are 5 cents lower to 20 cents higher. Trading activity has been light. Butter price regained 4.25 cents of the loss to close at $3.0925 with one load traded with one uncovered offer remaining. The Grade A nonfat dry milk price remained steady at $1.1950 with no loads traded. Class IV futures are 13 cents higher in July and the only contract traded. Butter futures are 0.50 cent lower to 6.47 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.25 to 0.30 cent higher.
