Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Milk Futures Move Limit Up

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 8 Lower
SOYBEANS: 8 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $2.50 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.82 Lower
DOW JONES: 84 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 54 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $0.45 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese buyers were aggressive Wednesday and kept increasing bids to find a level at which sellers would let go of supply. The only load traded was purchased at $1.93 with bids pushing the price to $1.9525, up 11.50 cents. The block price has not had a daily increase of this much since July 20, 2023. The barrel cheese price increased by 2 cents, closing at $1.90. The dry whey price remained unchanged at 38.25 cents with no loads traded. Class III futures are 5 to 75 cents higher with June and July limit up and above $20.00. Butter price remained unchanged at $3.0225 with no loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price increased 1.50 cents, closing at $1.13 with no loads traded. Class IV futures have only traded in the October contract which increased 5 cents. Butter futures are 0.12 cent lower to 1.32 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.40 to 1.00 cents higher.
