Friday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Butter and Cheese Bounce Back

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 6 Higher
SOYBEANS: 11 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: 7.10 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $1.50 Lower
DOW JONES: 509 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 276 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $0.97 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price increased 2.50 cents, closing at $1.5350 with 21 loads traded. Barrel cheese price increased 2.50 cents, closing at 41.5725 with five loads traded. The were four unfilled bids for blocks remaining at the close as buyers did not want to bid higher with no offers remaining. Dry whey price slipped 0.25 cent, closing at 36 cents with seven loads traded. Class III futures are 1 cent lower to 37 cents higher.

Butter price slipped lower initially but found buying interest resulting in the price increasing 2.75 cents, closing at $2.92 with five loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price decreased by 0.75 cent, closing at $1.1425 with four loads traded. Class IV futures are 1-14 cents lower. Butter futures are 0.12 to 0.87 cent higher. Dry whey futures are steady to 0.25 cent lower.
