Monday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Barrel Strength Pushed Milk Futures Higher

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: Unchanged
SOYBEANS: 5 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $3.10 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.50 Lower
DOW JONES: 263 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 39 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $0.93 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price remained unchanged at $1.65 with no loads traded. Barrel cheese price increased by 4 cents, closing at $1.59 with two loads traded. Dry whey remained unchanged at 50.75 cents with no loads traded. Class III futures are 2 cents lower to 33 cents higher with March showing the greatest gain. The butter price remained unchanged at $2.7450 with no loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price remained unchanged at $1.2250 with no loads traded. Class IV futures are steady to 16 cents higher despite steady butter and nonfat dry milk prices. Butter futures are steady at 2.37 cents higher. Dry whey futures are steady to 0.25 cent higher. USDA will release the December Dairy Products report Monday afternoon.
