Monday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Butter Continued Lower

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 5 Lower
SOYBEANS: 14 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $0.10 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.15 Higher
DOW JONES: 24 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 227 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $3.39 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price can back from negative territory as spot trading progressed. Price closed 2.25 cents higher at $1.4575 with six loads traded. Price initially traded 0.75 cent lower before buyers became more aggressive pushing price higher. There were no unfilled bids or uncovered offers remaining at the close. Barrel cheese price increased 4.50 cents, closing at $1.4550 with four loads traded. There were six unfilled bids and one uncovered offer remaining at the close. Dry whey price increased a penny closing at 42.35 with one load traded. Class III futures moved from mostly lower to mixed, but without the gusto one would have anticipated. Futures range from 15 cents lower to 16 cents higher. Butter price declined 4.50 cents, closing at $2.53 with three loads traded and no unfilled bids or uncovered offers remaining at the close. Grade A nonfat dry milk price increased 0.75 cent, closing at $1.18 with two loads traded. Class IV futures are 5 cents lower to 2 cents higher. Butter futures are unchanged to 3 cents lower. Dry whey futures are 0.12 to 1.00 cents higher.
