Thursday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Prices Slip Back

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 3 Higher
SOYBEANS: 16 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $0.70 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $1.10 Lower
DOW JONES: 86 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 187 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $1.60 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price declined a penny, closing at $1.6250 with two loads traded. Barrel cheese price declined 2 cents, closing at $1.59 with two loads traded. There was an unfilled bid and two uncovered offers for blocks remaining at the close while barrels had three uncovered offers remaining. Dry whey price declined 0.75 cent, closing at 39.50 cents with one load traded. This triggered aggressive selling in Class III futures with contracts through July 4 to 35 cents lower. Butter price remained unchanged at $2.67 with no loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price slipped 0.75, closing at $1.1725 with no loads traded. Class IV futures have not yet traded. Butter futures are 1.47 cents to 2.00 higher. Dry whey futures have not traded.
