Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Butter Price Falls

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

SOYBEAN MEAL: Unchanged
LIVE CATTLE: $0.07 Higher
DOW JONES: 82 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 84 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: 0.05 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese closed unchanged at $1.6850 with no loads traded. Price initially declined a penny before buyer interest brought price back up to unchanged. There were two loads traded. Barrel cheese price increased 1.75 cents, closing at $1.6725 with one load traded. Dry whey price remained steady at 36.50 cents with no loads traded. Class III futures are mixed showing little response to underlying cash. Contracts range from 6 cents lower to 15 cents higher. Butter price dropped 13.75 cents closing at $3.1425 with no loads traded. Buyers did not show up during spot trading with 3 offers posted. Grade A nonfat dry milk is unchanged at $1.1875 with no loads traded. Class IV futures are 1-14 cents higher. Butter futures are 3 cents lower to $1.47 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.32 cent lower to 0.97 cent higher.
