Thursday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Butter Falls

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price struggled closing 0.25 cent lower today at $1.70 with two loads traded. There was an unfilled bid and two uncovered offers remaining at the close. Barrel cheese price increased 2.75 cents closing at $1.6450 with one load traded. There were two unfilled bids and one uncovered offer remaining at the close. Dry whey price increased 1.50 cents closing at 33 cents and the highest price it has been since May 4. There were 20 loads traded. Demand seems to be improving significantly as there have been quite a few loads traded over the past number of weeks. Class III futures are 6-16 cents higher. Butter price may have reached a top with price falling 8.50 cents closing at $3.3950 with three loads traded. There were two unfilled bids and two uncovered offers remaining at the close of trading. One bid was way down at $2.65. Grade A nonfat dry milk price gained 0.50 cent closing at $1.22 with four loads traded. Class IV futures are unchanged to 5 cents higher. Butter futures are steady to 2 cents lower. Dry whey futures are steady to 0.50 cent higher.
