Monday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Milk Futures Fall Back

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 2 Higher
SOYBEANS: 3 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $2.60 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.72 Higher
DOW JONES: 78 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 87 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $0.06 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Both block and barrel cheese prices remained unchanged at $1.9250 and $1.8275, respectively. There was one uncovered offer for each remaining at the close. Dry whey price declined 0.75 cent, closing at 29.50 cents with 9 loads traded. Class III futures were under pressure before spot trading and remained that way following the close of trading. Contacts are 6 cents to 46 cents lower with October taking the brunt of the selling. Butter price remained unchanged at $2.68 with no loads traded and two offers remaining at the close. Grade A nonfat dry milk price remained unchanged at $1.10 with no loads traded. Class IV futures have only traded in the September contract and were 4 cents lower. Butter futures were 3.50 cents to 4.85 cents lower. Dry whey futures are 0.90 cent to 1.52 cents lower.
