Friday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Barrels Turn Higher

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

SOYBEANS: 23 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $0.10 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.45 Higher
DOW JONES: 376 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 34 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $0.97 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price slowly worked higher with a gain of 0.25 cent closing at $2.0275 with one load traded. Block cheese price increased 5.75 cents closing at $1.8075 with no loads traded. There were six unfilled bids for barrels remaining at the close of spot trading. Buyers were looking to take advantage of the lower price and began to outbid each other to entice a seller. However, sellers stayed away from the market seeing the aggressive nature of buyers. Dry whey price increased 0.50 cents closing at 27 cents with one load traded. Class III futures are 8 cents lower to 63 cents higher with September showing the greatest strength. Butter price fell 7 cents closing at $2.70 with 17 loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price increased a penny closing at $1.1050 with eight loads traded. Class IV futures are 1-9 cents higher. Butter futures are 5.75 cents lower to 0.50 cent higher. Dry whey futures are steady to 0.30 cent higher.
