Friday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Blocks Defy Continued Barrel Pressure

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

SOYBEANS: 13 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $8.00 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $2.12 Higher
DOW JONES: 235 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 126 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $1.49 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price increased 0.50 cent closing at $1.9650 with one load traded. After three days of steady price, a buyer finally became a bit more aggressive. There was one unfilled bid remaining at the close. The barrel cheese price declined 5.00 cents closing at $1.7750 with four loads traded. Dry whey price increased a penny closing at 27.25 cents with four loads traded. Class III futures were higher prior to spot trading and remained at those levels after the trading period with contracts steady to 18 cents higher. Butter price increased 0.50 cent closing at $2.62 with two loads traded. Grade A nonfat milk price increased 0.50 cent closing at $1.1250 with seven loads traded. Class III futures have not yet traded. Butter futures are 0.50 cent lower to 1.25 cent higher. Dry whey futures are steady to 0.55 cent higher. USDA will release the June Dairy Products report this afternoon showing production of various dairy products for the month.
