Monday Midday Dairy Market Update - Milk Futures Move Limit Up

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 33 Higher
SOYBEANS: 28 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $5.00 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $1.05 Lower
DOW JONES: 189 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 28 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $2.08 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price gained 8 cents, closing at $1.8625 with five loads traded. There were four unfilled bids for two loads with an uncovered offer remaining at the close. Barrel price jumped 17.50 cents, closing at $1.83 with no loads traded. There were three unfilled bids and one uncovered offer remaining at the close. The offer was 2 cents higher than the close as sellers are now holding back waiting to see how aggressive the buyers will be. Dry whey price increased 0.75 cent, closing at 26 cents with two loads traded. Class III futures are limit up in August through November contracts with a significant pool of buyers wanting to trade and are unable to. Futures range from 5 to 75 cents higher. Only front-month July shows a decline of 2 cents as it is unaffected by the strength. November and December contracts are now over $19.00. Butter price increased 3 cents, closing at $2.6125 with 11 loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price increased 3 cents, closing at $1.15 with five loads traded. Class IV futures are 16 to 65 cents higher.
