Tuesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Blocks Gain But Have Little Influence

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 9 Higher
SOYBEANS: 29 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $5.60 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.62 Higher
DOW JONES: 257 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 146 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $1.14 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price increased 3.50 cents, closing at $1.5050 with four loads traded. Price initially moved to $1.52 before bids were placed below that level and sellers offered lower. There were two uncovered offers remaining at the close. Barrel cheese price declined 2.75 cents, closing at $1.4475 with 12 loads traded. Price initially declined to $1.44 but bounced from that level. Dry whey slipped 0.50 cent, ending at 29.75 cents with 20 loads traded. There were 6 unfilled bids remaining at the close. This is the first time price has fallen below 30 cents since June 10, 2020. Class III futures are 12 cents lower to 1 cent higher. Butter price remained steady to $2.4375 with no loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price remained unchanged at $1.1650 with no loads traded. Class IV futures have not yet traded. Butter futures are 0.75 cent lower to 0.20 cent higher. Dry whey futures are 0.22 to 0.30 cent lower.
