Tuesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Milk Futures Fall Back From Morning Highs

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

SOYBEANS: 2 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $4.50 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.37 Higher
DOW JONES: 19 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 3 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $1.14 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese prices remained unchanged at $1.7650 with no loads traded. Barrel cheese price increased 0.25 cent closing at $1.5150 with 3 loads traded. This was a light trading day for barrels as there have been many days over the past 3 weeks that showed significant trading activity for barrels. Dry whey price increased 2.75 cents closing at 37.75 with 7 loads traded. It has been surprising to see the volume of loads recently traded in dry whey. Class III futures are mixed, ranging from 7 cents lower to 11 cents higher. Futures increased significantly Tuesday morning but fell back from the highs as spot trading drew near. Butter price increased 1.75 cents closing at $2.37 with no loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price increased 0.75 cent, closing at $1.13. Class IV futures are 2-20 cents higher. Butter futures are 0.12-0.77 cent higher. Dry whey futures are unchanged to 0.37 cent higher.
