Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Nonfat Dry Milk Falls to Multi-Year Low

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

LIVE CATTLE: $0.02 Higher
DOW JONES: 84 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 9 Points Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price increased three cents, closing at $2.0150 with five loads traded. This is the first time blocks have been above $2.00 since Jan. 18. Blocks initially declined to $1.98 before buyers turned more aggressive. Barrel cheese price declined 1.25 cents, closing at $1.94 with 10 loads traded. Price initially dropped to $1.93 before buyer interest brought price back up a penny. There continues to remain good demand for barrels. Dry whey price was unchanged at 44.75 with no loads traded. Class III futures are mixed ranging from 14 cents lower to 31 cents higher. April shows the greatest gain with November showing the most loss. Butter price declined 2.25 cents, ending at $2.3825 with no loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk declined 0.50 cent, ending at $1.15 with two loads traded. This is the lowest price for nonfat dry milk since March 24, 2023. Class IV futures have not yet traded. Butter futures are 1.00 to 3.25 cents lower. Dry whey futures are steady to 0.50 cent lower.
