Tuesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - GDT Price Index Falls

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 4 Higher
SOYBEANS: 9.50 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $1.10 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.075 Lower
DOW JONES: 651 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 286 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $2.84 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Cheese blocks remain at $2.0000 with no loads traded. Barrels increased 1.75 cents to $2.2275 with two loads traded. Class III milk futures were a penny lower to 37 cents higher, keeping in line with cheese prices. Butter was up 3.25 cents to close at $3.2100 with eight loads traded. Nonfat dry milk slipped a half cent to $1.5375 with two loads traded. Dry whey moved to $0.4225, down 1.75 cents with one load traded. Butter futures were 1.5 cents to 4.9 cents higher. Dry whey futures were down 2 to 0.15 cents. Nonfat dry milk futures were down 1 to 3 cents. Class IV milk futures were steady. The Global Dairy Trade auction held their 317th event, showing a 3.5% decline in the Price Index compared to the last event. Average price totaled $3,911 per metric ton (mt), or $1.77 per pound. The Dairy Products report will be out Tuesday afternoon.
