Friday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Barrels Fall Again

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 1 Higher
SOYBEANS: 5 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $4.60 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.35 Higher
DOW JONES: 560 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 156 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $0.35 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price remained steady at $2.0575 with no loads traded. Barrel cheese price declined 6.50 cents, ending at $2.09 with six loads traded. Barrel price has fallen 11.50 cents over the past two days. Dry whey price remains unchanged at 44 cents. This put significant pressure on Class III futures with contracts 1 to 37 cents lower. Cheese prices may be in trouble as the market moves closer to the end of the year. Butter price remained unchanged at $3.20 with no loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined 0.50 cents, closing at $1.42 with two loads traded. Nonfat dry milk continues to struggle with price falling to the lowest level since early October 2021. Class IV futures are steady to 9 cents lower. Butter futures are 1.95 cents lower to 1.47 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.50 to 1.25 cents lower.
