Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Block Cheese Declines

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 5 Lower
SOYBEANS: 12 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $4.00 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.42 Lower
DOW JONES: 123 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 64 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $0.03 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price declined 2 cents closing at $2.0325 with one load traded. Barrel cheese price increased 0.50 cent closing at $2.1750 with one load traded. The fact that blocks weakened triggered the selling of Class III futures. Dry whey price declined 0.50 cents closing at 45 cents. This resulted in Class III futures ranging from 62 cents lower to 13 cents higher. December shows the greatest loss. Butter price declined 4.25 cents closing at $3.1075 with no loads traded. This is the lowest butter price has been since September 2nd. Grade A nonfat dry milk price remained unchanged at $1.56 with one load traded. Class IV futures are 20-25 cents lower. Butter futures are 3.20 cents lower to 1.50 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.25 -- 1.00 cents lower.
