Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Block Cheese Pushes Higher

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 15 Higher
SOYBEANS: 65 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $32.40 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.02 Higher
DOW JONES: 377 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 146 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $0.96 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price gained 6 cents, closing at $2.06 with no loads traded. There were two buyers looking to increase ownership of cheese but were unsuccessful as sellers were nowhere to be found. Barrel price remained unchanged at $2.06 with two loads traded. Price initially increased 2 cents before more aggressive selling moved price back to unchanged with two uncovered offers remaining at the close. Butter price declined 3.25 cents, ending at $3.2075 with two loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined 2.50 cents, closing at $1.55 with four loads traded. Dry whey price declined a penny to 48.75 with no loads traded. Class III futures have been on a roller coaster with weakness finding some strength from cheese prices only to show weakness after barrels slipped back and butter declined. Futures are again finding support with October, November, and December contracts in positive territory. Futures are 26 cents lower to 9 cents higher. Class IV futures are mixed from 40 cents lower to 19 cents higher. Butter futures are 3.50 cents lower to 0.37 cent higher. Dry whey futures are 0.76 cent lower to 0.47 cent higher.
