Friday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Butter Slides Lower

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: Unchanged
SOYBEANS: 30 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $6.30 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.10 Lower
DOW JONES: 330 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 319 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $2.04 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price increased 2.25 cents, ending at $2.27 with one load traded. Barrel price decreased 3 cents, closing at $2.2450 with two loads traded. The decline of barrels more than offset the increase of blocks, resulting in a decrease of the price calculation for Class III. Dry whey price increased 0.25 cent, closing at 55.75 cents with one load traded. Butter price slipped back 2 cents from its high of the year, closing at $2.9150 with four loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk declined 0.75 cent, closing at $1.8625 with one load traded. Class III futures are mixed, ranging from 27 cents lower to 34 cents higher. November shows the greatest loss while May 2023 shows the greatest gain. Class IV futures are 12 cents lower to 11 cents higher. Butter futures are 0.70 to 2.00 cents lower. Dry whey futures have not yet traded today. USDA will release the April Dairy Products report Friday afternoon.
