Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Barrel Cheese Gains

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 5 Lower
SOYBEANS: 8 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $7.50 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.45 Lower
DOW JONES: 145 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 31 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $5.29 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price was on both sides of unchanged during spot trading. Price ranged from 0.25 cent higher to 0.25 cent lower. Price settled unchanged at $2.3475 with three loads traded. Barrel cheese price increased 3 cents, closing at $2.33 with one load traded. Dry whey price slipped 0.75 cent, closing at 58.76 cents with five loads traded. Butter price gained 3 cents, closing at $2.65 with two loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price gained 2.50 cents, closing at $1.7350 with four loads traded. Class III futures are 7 cents lower to 58 cents higher. May shows the greatest gain with June 2023 showing the greatest loss. Class IV futures are 24 cents lower to 13 cents higher with March 2023 showing the greatest loss. Butter futures are 0.70 cent lower to 1.02 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.50 cent lower to 0.50 cent higher. USDA will release the April Federal Order class prices today.
