Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Update - Cheese Prices Move Higher

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 1 Higher
SOYBEANS: Unchanged
SOYBEAN MEAL: $6.80 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.50 Higher
DOW JONES: 264 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 245 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $3.02 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price increased a penny, closing at $2.33 with three loads traded. Price initially declined a penny before buyers became more aggressive, resulting in the higher close and the highest price since Nov. 6, 2020. Barrel cheese price increased 1.25 cents, ending at $2.38 with two loads traded. Dry whey price remained unchanged at 63.50 cents with two loads traded. Butter price remained steady at $2.7750 with two loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price remained unchanged at $1.82 with no loads traded. Class III futures are 13 cents lower to 24 cents higher. The declines are seen in 2023 contracts with the greatest gain in the May 2022 contract. Class IV futures are 14 cents lower to 10 cents higher with light trading activity. Butter futures are 1.45 cents lower to 0.25 cent higher. Dry whey futures are 0.10 to 0.50 cent higher.
