Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Moves Higher

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 7 Lower
SOYBEANS: 12 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $5.10 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.80 Higher
DOW JONES: 198 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 340 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $4.09 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Cash cheese trading was slow to get going but eventually gained some traction. Block price increased 4.75 cents, closing at $2.31 with one load traded. Barrel cheese price increased 4 cents, closing at $2.30 with eight loads traded. Dry whey price gained 2.75 cents, closing at 61.75 cents with no loads traded. Butter price gained 0.75 cent, closing at $2.7475 with no loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined 2.50 cents, closing at $1.8150 with six loads traded. Class III futures were lower into spot trading but quickly turned higher with contacts 4 to 37 cents higher. Class IV futures are unchanged. Butter futures are 3.00 cents lower to 1.50 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 1.97 cents lower to 2.95 cents higher.
