Tuesday Midday Dairy Market Update - Cheese and Butter Prices Hold

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 11 Higher
SOYBEANS: 13 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $1.20 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $1.40 Higher
DOW JONES: 117 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 97 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $6.25 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Cheese prices remain unchanged for both blocks and barrels with no loads traded. Block price is $2.32 and barrel price is $2.3675. An offer was posted for both blocks and barrels at and above the market with no interest in moving it during the trading period. Butter price slipped 0.75 cent, ending at $2.7750 with no loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price slipped 0.50 cent, closing at $1.82 with two loads traded. Dry whey price remained unchanged at 63.50 cents with no loads traded. Class III futures are mostly lower with contracts ranging from 27 cents lower to 4 cents higher. Contacts in the second half of the year show the larger declines. Class IV future have showed limited trading activity with contracts unchanged. Butter futures are 0.52 to 1.25 cents lower. Dry whey futures are 0.50 to 1.22 cents higher.
