Thursday Midday Dairy Market Update - Active Spot Trading in Complex

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 15 Lower
SOYBEANS: 2 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $1.80 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $1.00 Higher
DOW JONES: 64 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 121 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $0.72 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Spot trading saw more movement Thursday. Block cheese increased 2.75 cents, closing at $2.3625 with three loads traded. Barrels were up 2.75 cents to $2.3700 with nine loads traded. Butter declined 3 cents to close at $2.6900 with three loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk slipped 1.50 cents to $1.7775 with one load traded. Dry whey gained a half cent, closing at $0.6400 with two loads traded. Class III futures were 1 cent higher to 21 cents lower, keeping it under $25.00. Class IV futures were 3 to 15 cents lower. Butter futures were unchanged to $2.48 cents lower, while dry whey futures were up 0.18 cents to 1.25 cents lower.
