Monday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Milk Futures Prices See Some Pressure

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 24 Higher
SOYBEANS: 34 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $6.40 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.32 Lower
DOW JONES: 77 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 17 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $2.37 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price increased 2.50 cents, closing at $2.3975 with five loads traded. Barrel cheese price decreased 2.50 cents, closing at $2.4150 with five loads traded. The gain of blocks was more than offset by the loss of barrels due to their price weighting. Dry whey increased 0.50 cents, closing at 64 cents with one load traded. Class III futures were higher prior to spot trading but came under pressure as spot trading finished for the day. Class III futures are 29 cents lower to 10 cents higher. Butter price declined 1.50 cents, closing at $2.74 with three loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price remained unchanged at $1.8225 with no loads traded. Class IV futures showed very little trading activity with contracts at the end of the year trading unchanged. Butter futures are 0.02 cent to 1.75 cents lower. Dry whey futures are 0.02 to 0.50 cent higher.
