Monday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cash Activity Virtually Non-Existent in Complex

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 6 Lower
SOYBEANS: 35 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $8.90 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.65 Higher
DOW JONES: 248 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 215 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $3.99 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Both block and barrel cheese prices remained unchanged at $2.32 and $2.3675, respectively, with no loads traded. There was an unfilled bid for a load of barrels with the buyer unwilling to raise the bid to try to entice a seller. Dry whey price remained unchanged at 63.50 cents with no loads traded. Butter price remained unchanged at $2.7825 with no loads traded. There were two offers remaining at the close. Grade A nonfat dry milk price increased 0.25 cent, closing at $1.8250 with one load traded. Class III futures are one cent lower to 26 cents higher. Class IV futures have not yet traded with bids and offers quite wide apart. Butter futures are 2.07 cents lower to 1.72 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.25 to 0.50 cent lower.
