Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Prices Post Further Gains

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 4 Higher
SOYBEANS: 22 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $8.30 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.03 Higher
DOW JONES: 380 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 111 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $4.26 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price increased 3 cents, closing at $2.8025 with one load traded. Barrel cheese price increased 3.50 cents, closing at $2.19 with five loads traded. Dry whey price remained unchanged at 75.50 cents with no load traded. Class III futures have not reacted to the gains of cheese as higher prices have already been factored in. Class III futures are 26 cents lower to 4 cents higher with May showing the only gain. Butter price increased 0.50 cent closing at $2.8025 with one load traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk increased 0.75 cent, closing at $1.87 with no loads traded. Class IV futures are 8 cents lower to 25 cents higher. Butter futures are 0.25 to 4.47 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.57 cent lower to 0.62 cent higher. USDA will release the February Cold Storage report Wednesday afternoon.
