Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Prices Show Further Weakness

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 27 Lower
SOYBEANS: 2 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $3.20 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.92 lower
DOW JONES: 319 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 287 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $0.33 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price declined 7 cents, closing at $2.05 with only one load traded and two offers remaining at the close. Price is now down to the lowest level it has been since March 1. Barrel cheese price declined 4 cents with no loads traded. There were four offers remaining at the close with no buyers showing up. Price is down to the lowest level it has been since March 4. This does not bode well for the market in the near term as buyers hold back due to weakness but also due to sufficient supply for the time being. Butter price remained unchanged at $2.7350 with no loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price remained unchanged at $1.8450. Dry whey price increased 0.25 cent, ending at 76 cents with one load traded. Class III futures are unchanged to 48 cents lower. Class IV futures are unchanged to 15 cents lower. Butter futures are 0.90 to 6.72 cents lower. Dry whey futures are 0.50 to 0.75 cent lower.
