Thursday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Prices Bounce Back

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 25 Higher
SOYBEANS: 19 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $4.10 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: Unchanged
DOW JONES: 274 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 126 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $7.26 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese prices initially traded down to $2.0350, which was 1.50 cents lower, before buyers stepped back in, aggressively moving price up to $2.0775 into the close. This was a gain of 2.75 cents with six loads traded. Barrel cheese price gained 0.50 cent, closing at $1.9850. Price initially declined 2 cents before buyers stepped in, more aggressively trading nine loads. This turned Class III futures higher with contracts 2 to 44 cents higher through the end of the year. Contacts in 2023 are unchanged to 8 cents lower. Butter price declined 3.50 cents, closing at $2.70 with nine loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price increased 1.75 cents, closing at $1.8625 with no loads traded. Dry whey price remained steady at 76 cents with no loads traded. Class IV futures are unchanged to 20 cents lower. Butter futures are 0.17 to 2.37 cents higher. Dry whey futures are holding steady.
