Tuesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Futures Fall

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 27 Lower
SOYBEANS: 23 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $10.10 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.45 Higher
DOW JONES: 94 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 142 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $1.97 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Sellers came to the spot market Tuesday unable to find willing buyers unless at lower prices. Block cheese price fell 9 cents, closing at $2.17, with one load traded. Barrel cheese price declined 6 cents, closing at $2.19, with four loads traded. There were no unfilled bids or uncovered offers remaining at the close. Butter declined 2 cents closing at $2.7175 with four loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined 1.75 cents, ending at $1.83 with two loads traded. Dry whey price declined 2.75 cents, ending at 69 cents, with four loads traded. Dry whey is down to the lowest level since Dec. 2, 2021. Class III futures are 1 cent higher to 64 cents lower. The gain is in the March contract, which discontinues trading Tuesday. Class IV futures are 18-45 cents lower. Butter futures are 0.17 cent to 2.80 cents lower. Dry whey futures are 1.20 to 3.70 cents lower. March futures and options cease trading Tuesday with April taking over as the front month.
