Friday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Extends Gains

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 13 Lower
SOYBEANS: 4 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $3.20 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $1.05 Higher
DOW JONES: 76 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 193 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $1.85 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price increased 5.25 cents, closing at $2.13 with two loads traded. Barrel cheese price gained 4.50 cents, ending at $2.03 with seven loads traded. There was only an unfilled bid for a load of barrels remaining at the close of spot trading. Butter price gained 2.50 cents, closing at $2.7250 with no loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price slipped 0.25 cent, closing at $1.86 with six loads traded. Dry whey price remained steady at 76 cents with no loads traded. Class III futures are 6 cents lower to 39 cents higher with May showing the greatest gain. Class IV futures are 2 cents lower to 5 cents higher. Butter futures are 0.17 cent lower to 1.60 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.05 to 0.65 cent lower. USDA will release the February Milk Production report on Monday.
