Friday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Spot Prices Move Higher

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: Unchanged
SOYBEANS: 2 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $3.80 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.975 Higher
DOW JONES: 22 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 238 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $2.44 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price increased 2 cents, closing at $1.90 with only one load traded. Barrel cheese price increased 4.25 cents, closing at $1.8950 with four loads traded. Class III futures are 5 to 41 cents higher with April showing the greatest gain. Futures are holding near their highs. Butter price increased 4.75 cents, closing at $2.50 with 12 loads traded. Buyers came out of the woodwork with five unfilled bids at the close and two uncovered offers quite a bit above the market. Grade A nonfat dry milk price gained 2.25 cents, ending at $1.8325 with seven loads traded. There was quite a bit of interest in nonfat dry with 15 unfilled bids remaining under the market. There were three uncovered offers remaining. Dry whey price remained unchanged at 85.75 with no loads traded. Class IV futures are 18 to 45 cents higher June is above $23.00 and a new high. Butter futures are 1.52 cents lower to 3.00 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.07 to 0.52 cent higher.
