Block cheese remained steady at $1.6750 with no loads traded. Barrel cheese fell 9.25 cents closing at $1.66 with only one load traded. There were only sellers, which showed up for blocks Tuesday with barrels closing spot trading with two unfilled bids and two uncovered offers. This pushed barrels below blocks setting a bearish tone. Countering this bearishness was the increase in dry whey of 1.50 cents with price closing at 64.50 cents and 1 load traded. This moves price to the highest level since May 26. November and December Class III futures are taking the brunt of selling with price down 35 cents and 32 cents respectively. The rest of the contracts range from 10 cents lower to 9 cents higher. Butter price increased 3 cents closing at $1.98 with 4 loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price gained a penny closing at $1.5650 with no loads traded and another new high. Class IV futures are steady to 19 cents higher. Butter futures are 0.50 cent to 2.25 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.25 cent to 0.77 cent higher. Tuesday is the last trading day for October dairy futures and options with the Federal Order prices announced Wednesday.
