Block cheese price fell back 6 cents, closing at $1.75 with one load traded. The one load that had pushed the market higher the past two days was filled at the steady price of $1.81. Then the market uncovered the void with another offer pushing price down without finding a buyer. Barrels had quite a bit more activity with 19 loads traded. However, price still declined 5.25 cents, closing at $1.4975 and moving it to the lowest price since Sept. 16. It is almost certain holiday buying is over with the exception of fill-in buying that will need to be done as orders are placed. That may result in continued volatility as the market moves through the holiday period. Butter slipped 0.75 cent, closing at $1.95 with one load traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined a penny to $1.55 with no loads traded. Dry whey price increased a penny to 67 cents with one load traded. Class III futures are 54 cents lower to 1 cent higher. July is the only contract in positive territory. Class IV futures are 1 to 4 cents higher. Butter futures are 0.02 to 1.00 cent lower. Dry whey futures are 0.42 cent lower to 0.22 cent higher.
