Block cheese price increased 4 cents closing at $1.75 with one load traded. Bids were raised rapidly near the close of spot trading as a buyer wanted to purchase a load but could not find a willing seller. Barrel cheese price increase 0.50 cent closing at $1.6250 with 4 loads traded. Barrels were on a roller coaster with price initially higher then falling back to unchanged before moving higher into the close. Butter price increased 2.50 cents closing at $1.77 with 2 loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price increased 0.50 cent closing at $1.3650 with 11 loads traded. Dry whey price increased 0.75 cent ending at 58 cents with one load traded. All categories of prices increased which provided support to Class III futures. Contracts are 2 cents lower to 26 cents higher. Only the March and front-month September contracts are lower with Tuesday being the final day to traded September Class III futures. November shows the greatest gain. Class IV futures are steady to 4 cents lower. Butter futures are 1.30 cents lower to 0.47 cent higher. Dry whey futures are 0.30 cent to 1.27 cents higher.
