Block cheese price continued to slide with a decline of 1.75 cents closing at $1.7075 with no loads traded. Barrel cheese price increased 2 cents, closing at $1.60 with no loads traded. Closing prices were set by one uncovered offer for blocks and 2 unfilled bids for barrels. Dry whey price increased 0.50 cent closing at 57 cents with no loads traded. The strength of dry whey and barrels more than offsetting the weakness of blocks, moved Class III futures from their lows to mixed prices. Dry whey has been in a nice uptrend with price now at the highest level it has been since June 28. Butter price gained 3 cents closing at $1.7525 with 7 loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price increased a penny to $1.37 with 2 loads traded. Price has moved above the previous high and is now at the highest price since Oct. 17, 2014. Class III futures are 14 cents lower to 5 cents higher. Class IV futures are 2 cents to 5 cents higher. Butter futures are 1.50 cents lower to 2.00 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.22 cent to 0.82 cents higher.
