Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Prices Diverge Further

Block cheese price declined 0.50 cent, closing at $1.5050 with nine loads traded. This is the lowest block price since May 12, 2020. Price moved below the low end of the trading range it had been in since mid-November. Barrel cheese price increased 1.50 cents, closing at $1.59 with six loads traded. Activity has increased significantly over the past few weeks during spot trading. Butter price gained 1.50 cents, closing at $1.8050 with two loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price remained unchanged at $1.2950 with four loads traded. Dry whey price increased 0.25 cent, settling at 60.25 with no loads traded. Class III futures are mixed, ranging from 4 cents lower to 6 cents higher. Class IV futures are 10 cents lower. Butter futures are 1.00 cent lower to 0.75 cent higher. Dry whey futures are 0.07 cent lower to 1.00 cent higher. Correction to the earlier report that the May Federal Order Class Prices would be announced Wednesday. They will be announced Thursday. They are delayed one day due to the holiday Monday.
