Block cheese price increased 3 cents closing at $1.86 with 8 loads traded. Barrel cheese price increased 7.25 cents closing at $1.7650 with 10 loads traded. Trading activity certainly has increased recently giving the impression buyers are now panicking due to prices moving higher than anticipated, triggering increased buying. Butter price increased 2.50 cents closing at $1.9050 with no loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk gained a penny ending at $1.2150 with 11 loads traded. Dry whey price increased 2 cents ending at 65 cents with one load traded. Class III futures are 5 cents to 38 cents higher with May showing the greatest strength. June hit $20.00 briefly during spot trading but has dropped back about 20 cents from that level. Class IV futures are 29 cents to 35 cents higher. Butter futures are 1.17 cent to 5.80 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.10 cent to 1.50 cents higher.
