Block cheese price slipped 0.50 cent closing at $1.79 with no loads traded. Barrel cheese price increased 0.25 cent, closing at $1.5525 with one load traded. The slight weakness of blocks turned Class III futures lower in nearby months after posting double-digit gains prior to spot trading. Thursday, blocks were pushed up on an unfilled bid and Friday it was pushed down on an uncovered offer. This will give traders something to ponder over the weekend as they try to determine price direction and strength or weakness. Butter price increased a penny to $1.7150 matching the previous high set on March 2 with just one load traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price increased 0.75 cent closing at $1.17 with 3 loads traded. Dry whey price remained unchanged at 59.25 with no loads traded. Class III futures are 42 cents lower to 9 cents higher. Class IV futures have not yet traded. Butter futures are 0.52 cent lower to 0.95 cent higher. Dry whey futures are 0.10 cent to 0.50 cent higher.
