Block cheese price gained a penny to $1.5950 with no loads traded. Barrel cheese price increased 0.50 cent, closing at $1.4050 with no load traded. There was one unfilled bid for a load of blocks and three unfilled bids for barrels. The fact that there were no sellers showing up at the market triggered strong buying. Much of it was short-covering as sellers wanted to get out just in case a bottom might have been found. Butter price increased 4.50 cents, ending at $1.5350 with 12 loads traded. The strength in butter and trading activity is good as retail orders continue to come to the market. Grade A nonfat dry milk price remained unchanged at $1.15 with no loads traded. Dry whey price remained steady at 46.25 cents with no loads traded. Class III futures are unchanged to 44 cents higher. Class IV futures have not yet traded. Butter futures are 0.82 to 2.50 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.43 to 1.00 cents higher.
