Thursday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Dry Whey Shows Further Weakness

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

LIVE CATTLE: $3.02 Lower
DOW JONES: 134 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 51 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $0.25 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Cheese prices remained steady at $1.86 for blocks and $1.8050 for barrels. There were no loads traded with two offers for loads of barrels remaining at the close. The dry whey price declined 2 cents closing at 59 cents with no loads traded. There was an unfilled bid and five uncovered offers remaining at the close. Class III futures are 10 cents lower to 9 cents higher. The butter price declined a penny closing at $2.40 with seven loads traded. There was an unfilled bid and two uncovered offers remaining at the close. Grade A nonfat dry milk remained steady at $1.34 with no loads traded. Class IV futures are 5 to 30 cents lower. Butter futures are 1.75 to 4.00 cents lower. Dry whey futures are 0.32 cent lower to 0.50 cent higher.
