Tuesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Spot Prices Move Higher

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

SOYBEANS: 9 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $8.30 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.37 Lower
DOW JONES: 237 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 47 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $0.40 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese price increased 3.75 cents, closing at $1.9350 with two loads traded. The barrel cheese price increased 4.25 cents, closing at $2.01 with two loads traded. There was one unfilled bid remaining in each category at the close. The dry whey price increased by 0.50 cent, closing at 47.50 cents with one load traded. Class III futures have not reacted much with mixed trading activity ranging from 19 cents lower to 8 cents higher. Trading volume is moderate. The butter price increased 2.50 cents, closing at $3.1050 with three loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk increased by 0.50 cent, closing at $1.20 with 14 loads traded. Buyer interest was satisfied with only offers for four loads remaining at the close. Class IV futures have traded in only the July and October contracts at 17 and 27 cents higher respectively. Butter futures are 2 cents lower to 2 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.15 cent lower to 1.47 cents higher.
