Tuesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Butter, Cheese and Grade A Nonfat Dry Milk All Lower

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 4 Higher
SOYBEANS: 14 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $2.90 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.90 Higher
DOW JONES: 139 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 43 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $2.90 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price slipped 2 cents closing at $1.58 with three loads traded. Barrel cheese price declined 5.75 cents, closing at $1.49.25 with six loads traded. Dry whey increased 0.50 cent closing at 39.5 cents with no loads traded. This brought pressure to Class III futures with contracts ranging from 5-20 cents lower after a neutral to positive morning of trading.

Butter dropped 7.50 cents closing at $2.5000 with four loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk traded 0.25 cents lower at $1.1625 with one load traded. Class IV futures have not traded yet today. Butter futures are 3.00-3.50 cents lower. Dry whey futures are 0 to 0.35 cent higher. Futures acrost the dairy sector all felt the pressure after the cash auction today.
