Thursday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Slips Back

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: Unchanged
SOYBEANS: 6 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $2.20 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.55 Higher
DOW JONES: 92 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 21 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $2.76 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price declined 3 cents, closing at $1.57 with three loads traded. There were two unfilled bids remaining at the close of spot trading. Barrel price declined 2.25 cents, closing at $1.4950 with four loads traded. An unfilled bid and uncovered offer remained at the close. Dry whey price remained unchanged at 39.50 cents with no loads traded. Class III futures are steady to 8 cents lower with rather light trading activity. Butter price held steady at $2.46 with one load traded. There was an uncovered offer remaining at the close suggesting buyers may not be very aggressive anytime soon. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined 0.75 cent, closing at $1.1650 with three loads traded. Class IV futures are 5 cents lower to 1 cent higher with the only trade so far in September and October contracts. Butter futures are 0.75 lower to 1.80 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.50 to 1.00 cent lower.
