Monday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Spot Prices Bounce

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 10 Higher
SOYBEANS: 31 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $24.50 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.87 Higher
DOW JONES: 61 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 20 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $0.97 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price increased 4.25 cents, closing at $1.6425 with three loads traded. Barrel cheese price increased 2.50 cents, closing at $1.6750 with one load traded. There was an unfilled bid each for a load of block and a load of barrels with two uncovered offers of blocks at the close of spot trading. Dry whey price increased 0.75 cent, closing at 40.50 cents with one load traded. This moves the price to the highest level since April 19.

Class III futures are 12 cents lower to 31 cents higher with December showing the greatest gain and lower price taking place in the third quarter of 2024. Butter price increased 4.50 cents, closing at $2.6450 with one load traded. There were no bids of offers remaining at the close. Grade A nonfat dry milk price increased 2 cents, closing at $1.22 with five loads traded. Class IV futures are steady to 14 cents higher. Butter futures are 0.95 cent lower to 4 cents higher. Dry whey futures are unchanged to a penny higher.
