Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Pushes Higher

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

traded. Barrel cheese price increased 3.75 cents, closing at $1.6825 with five loads traded. Buyers were aggressive, moving prices up rather quickly. Dry whey gained 1.50 cents, closing at 38.50 cents with four loads traded. This provided a boost to Class III futures with contracts 4 cents lower to 58 cents higher.

November shows the greatest gain of 58 cents followed by December with a gain of 57 cents. Only the June contract shows a loss. Butter price increased 0.75 cents closing at $3.4175 with no loads traded. Sellers were nowhere to be found, which could indicate buyers may need to bid higher to obtain the product. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined a penny, closing at $1.22 with one load traded. Class IV futures are less exuberant with contracts steady to 8 cents higher. Butter futures are 1.50 cents lower to 4.97 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.37 cent lower to 2 cents higher.
